At The Civic, we’ve always been proud of our role in drawing people to Stourport, but did you know that we’re also committed to supporting local businesses?
In our most recent Business Plan (2021-2028), we aimed to increase our spending with local suppliers and companies. And we’re delivering on that objective.
A Commitment to Supporting Local Businesses
Last year alone, we spent a remarkable £79,633 within the Wyre Forest District.
That’s a whopping 44% of our total expenditure!
Highlighting Local Partners
We’re proud to collaborate with numerous talented businesses in Wyre Forest and Worcestershire. Over the coming weeks we will highlight some of the great businesses we work with.
Let’s start, where many of you do, with our bar:
- Bewdley Brewery: A long-standing partner, Bewdley Brewery’s ales have been a staple on our menu since our early days,
before we had pumps and taps installed and we used to sit their barrels on the bar!
The team produce fantastic ales and they have a lovely little tap room where you can see the fermentation room, and they hold regular street food events.
- Wildjac Gin: This locally produced gin, crafted with a sustainable approach, is a recent addition to our bar.
Distilled in the Wyre Forest using locally sourced botanicals and donate 1% of all their sales revenue to the Wyre Forest Community Land Trust and Worcestershire Wildlife Trust. They also send out wildflower seeds with each 70cl bottle.
- Piston Vodka: Inspired by precision engineering, Piston Vodka is a Worcester-based product, distilled nine times for purity in Diglis.
Piston also run Gin Schools where you can craft your own gin, as well as regular events throughout the year.
- SmartEpos: We recently upgraded our till system with SmartEpos, a company based in Elmley Lovett (just the other side of Hartlebury).
The team provided excellent setup and onboarding support, and they’re always available to assist us.
By choosing local businesses, we’re not only supporting our community but also ensuring that our venue reflects the unique character of Stourport and the area. We are committed to expanding our business with local suppliers and making an even greater impact.
So when you visit us your not just supporting The Civic, you are supporting local businesses as well.
