Introducing The Civic Blog

We have a saying “There is always something going on at The Civic” – and we are not always talking about the shows and events we host here.

There is also almost always something going on in the background, and quite often its literally “behind the scenes”.
We thought we should try to shed some light on the areas of The Civic that you might not see or hear about that often and we thought a Blog, where we could regulalry update our community on this hidden aspect of our work, could be of some benefit.

We want The Civic to be as open and transparent as we feel we can be, so that the people we do this for – YOU our community – have a better understanding of who we are and what we do.

There is a lot we can talk about, but we are hoping to include topics such as:

• Developments and progress on our organisational plans,
• Interviews and discussions with some of our users and performers,
• Discussions with Staff and Volunteers,
• The role The Civic plays outside of Stourport/Wyre Forest,
• Discussions with our partners and organisations we are members of,
• Explaining why we have done what we have done (or are planning to do), and
• Reviews of shows and events

The Blog will be published on our website, but we will also publish the links on our Social Media channels.
We will also be looking at whether we could produce a regular Podcast covering some of these areas, and more.

If there is anything in particular you would like us to discuss or write about please let us know and we will try and include it in the future.
